Jim Griffin (CSCS, USAW)
Coach Griffin
is completing his first full year as the strength and
conditioning coach for the Cougars. He currently offers
weight training programs to all of Montgomery’s athletic
teams as well as runs a comprehensive speed and agility
program. The goal of these programs is to develop each
athlete to their fullest potential. These training programs
focus on improving their athleticism, increasing athletic
flexibility, developing joint stability, and improving
overall physical strength. These goals are accomplished
through a variety strength, speed, and agility training
programs that incorporate olympic lifts, core lifts,
plyometrics, and functional exercises.
Coach Griffin
graduated from West Windsor- Plainsboro High School in 1997
where he was an All-Area and All-Decade football player. He
continued his studies at The College of New Jersey where he
was a member of the football team and graduated in 2001 with
a degree in History & Secondary Education. Coach Griffin
spent four years as a seventh grade social studies teacher
in Montgomery Middle School before moving up to the High
School in on 2005. He currently teaches 9th and
10th grade history and serves as the Defensive
Coordinator for the football team. [He] holds
certifications from the National Strength and Conditioning
Association and USA Weightlifting. Jim currently resides in
Robbinsville, NJ with his wife Rhonna.

Coach
Griffin’s training programs are available to all
Montgomery’s Athletes who are in eighth grade or older.
This includes sports specific weight training plans as well
as the speed and agility program. Coach Griffin also runs
periodic seminars on the benefits of weight training, proper
athletic development, and the necessities of a comprehensive
