Letterwinners: 5 returning, 8 lost.

Roster: Justin Kovacevich (Sr.,G/F, 6-5); Ananth Chenimineni (Sr., G, 5-10); Greg Tarca (Sr., G/F, 6-3); Tim Youreneff (Sr., G, 6-0); Mike Fidanzato (Sr., G, 5-11); Darron Wallace (Jr., G/F, 6-4); Chase Ta (Jr., G, 6-2); Dominik Antosz (Jr., F/C, 6-4); Alex Miller (Jr., G, 6-1); Matt Stagnitta (So., G, 5-10); Mitch Chugunov (So., G, 5-11); Matt Remsen (Fr., G, 5-9).

Outlook: The Cougars should push Ridge for the Raritan Division title. The versatile Kovacevich (15.3 ppg) is one of the area’s top players. He is one of three returning starters, along with point guard Ta (4 ppg, 3 apg) and Youreneff (3 ppg). Last year’s sixth man, Tarca (6 ppg), is also back. A fleet of newcomers will contribute, including Wallace, Miller, Antosz, Remsen and football standout Chenimineni. With size, experience, skill and athleticism, Montgomery is poised to do some damage in the county and conference. “Our team chemistry is great right now, with nobody concerned about statistics or who takes the most shots,” Grundy said.
