Greg Tarca selected MAAC All-Academic honors
HAMDEN, Conn. – The Quinnipiac men’s basketball team placed four players on the 2015-16 Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference All-Academic team, it was announced today by the league office.
The four Bobcat selections were all sophomores, including guards Ayron Hutton (Virginia Beach, Va.), Greg Tarca (Montgomery, N.J. – pictured), and Jemaa Yuori (Accra, Ghana), and forward Samuel Dingba (Yaounde, Cameroon). The four selections led the MAAC, as Fairfield and Siena each had three and Saint Peter’s had two (of the 17 players chosen overall).
To be eligible for MAAC All-Academic honors, a student-athlete must have completed at least two semesters at his current institution. Six players on the 2015-16 Bobcats roster are in their first years at Quinnipiac, meaning only nine were eligible to receive All-Academic distinction. Four of the nine qualified, while two others fell short by only a fraction of a point.
